Large bodies and sex

This Instagram post was conceptualised after a very endearing conversation with @bombaywallflower & @bikonic_ . These illustrations are gender fluid and not confined to any specific gender.

Does SIZE matter?
While a lot that has been said about the size of the male genitalia, and if it matters, there is a lot of misconception when it comes to bigger bodies having sex. Majority of fat people suffer from body dysmorphia, especially when it comes to engaging in sexual activities. Because let’s face it, when was the last time you saw an extremely well shot steamy scene featuring a fat person? There are also misconceptions that fat people are ‘easy’ to have sex with because they are desperate and would take anything they get because sex = desire and a fat body is not ‘desirable’ by society’s beauty standards. But newsflash! THIS IS NOT TRUE. Sexual desire can be felt or not felt by anyone with any body type or size. The fear of judgement by your partner, on your body size, when in an intimate/vulnerable setting is real. Sex positivity is about being okay with people’s sexual choices, inclusivity, respect and being open to communicate about SEX. Talk about it to your partner, to your therapist, to anyone. The more you talk, the more you will de-stigmatise it. Repeat after me: Any body can have SEX.
